Insert the plugin on an audio or MIDI track — MIDI and audio pass through the plugin unchanged. Check the chapter “DAW-Specific Notes”.
Select your MIDI output port — this can be a MIDI USB interface or a USB-connected external device that shows on the computer as a MIDI port.
Make sure your device is powered on and connected before loading your DAW session. This ensures full session recall when the plugin loads.
Align your device — use the Shift control to align the device with your DAW while playing. You can use the DAW’s metronome for checking the syncing. Playing the DAW non-looping allows more precision when adjusting; afterwards, you can put your DAW on loop at will. We recommend loops not shorter than 1 bar for stability.
Add groove — use the Shuffle function to add groove to synchronised devices.
You're all set! Your devices are now in sync.
Important Notes
Omniclock only controls the timing of external clocked devices, not MIDI clips or VST instruments.
You can load multiple instances of Omniclock, but each instance can use only one output port.
Do not put all Omniclock instances into a single MIDI track — use separate MIDI tracks in your DAW for each instance.
Some devices do not fully support the shuffle function. The ones we tested and found not to support: Akai MPC Live III, Korg Volca Drum, Nord Keys Wave 2, Moog Matriarch, Access Virus B, and Native Instruments Maschine+.
Different equipment works best with different shuffle curves. Start with the suggested curve, but try the others too.
To keep things aligned, make sure you start DAW playback at the beginning of a bar — unless you want to get creative!
⚠ Do not send two clock signals to the same slave device. This can cause double tempo. Always disable DAW MIDI clock output on ports where Omniclock is active.
⚠ Omniclock detects if there is a new version available and asks you to upgrade. After installing the new version, please make a full exit of the DAW and start it again.
